Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.

David Walliams

Prolific writer for children and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

A representative for the publisher said: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the decision was reached following an investigation into claims about inappropriate behaviour involving young women.

The company did not confirm the motivations for this action, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies internationally in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

He has published more than 40 books altogether, including a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
